
A freezing Mac is not fun at all. It could be a quick fix or might require a trip to your local data recovery shop. Getting to the bottom of this mac repair issue quickly is very important to reduce further damage. Here are a few tech tips to try and fix your freezing mac.
- Repair your hard disk by going to Search on the top right, type in Disk Utility, and follow the instructions to select First Aid to repair your disk.
- If the repair doesn’t work, turn off extensions by going to System Preferences, Classic, Advanced, and then Turn off Extensions and Restart.
G5 freezes - If the above 2 computer fix steps don’t work, try repairing your permissions by again going to Disk Utility, select startup disk and click First Aid. The time, click on verify disk permissions to test and then repair disk permissions.
- If all above don’t work, you might have to reinstall your Mac operating system or check with a Mac tech place to see if your hard drive might be failing.
