Netbooks need love too. Antivirus software love, that is. Yes, netbooks are cheap and many computer support folks might think to just throw some free antivirus software on there to save more dough. But, we have seen an alarming number of netbooks come into our nyc computer repair shop for this cheap rationale. On the flip side, you’ll wind up paying more to remove a virus versus just installing good, protective antivirus software in the first place.
What’s the best netbook antivirus software? Norton Internet Security – Netbook Edition. My favorite antivirus software is Norton Internet Security, or NIS. It not only is the most proactive software to find the latest viruses, but it will go the extra step to remove them as they infect the computer, whereas other software programs just quarantine or get infected. However, I never recommended the NIS program for netbooks, worrying it would be too much of a system bog on the computer resources.
Now, that Norton has come out with a netbook version, I can feverishly recommend this one for netbooks. It is a slim-lined version of the regular NIS and as powerful. The drawback is the price is still $70 like the regular version which is a bummer for the cheaper-minded netbook consumer.
You can try the program for 30 days free to decide if you like it.
