How to sync Outlook 2007 contacts with iPhone or iPod touch – iPhone support

Syncing your Outlook 2007 contacts with your iPhone or iPod touch means that you are in between the Microsoft support and Apple service worlds.  But, that’s okay and don’t worry because it’s easy to do.  iPhone repair specialists need not apply here.  Let’s get to it!

Here’s how to sync your Outlook 2007 contacts with your iPhone or iPod touch:

  1. Connect your iPhone / iPod touch to your computer with your Apple USB cable.
  2. iTunes will automatically open.  Click on your Apple product under Devices.
  3. Select the Info tab.
  4. Under Contacts, click Sync contacts from, and select Outlook.
  5. Select All contacts to sync everything or Selected groups to select which contacts to sync.
  6. Click Apply and you’re done!

As per syncing emails, you should not look to sync emails from Outlook to your iPhone since it may overload your iPhone.  Plus, emails are typically stored on the email server (i.e. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc) for a period of time so you’ll be able to see the latest emails on your iPhone or iPod touch.

If you have any problems with the above 6 steps, make sure to update your Outlook 2007 to the latest service pack as well as updating iTunes to the latest version.  Having an outdated version could prevent a positive outcome here and cause iTunes issues.
