Whoops! Your email just went out too soon. Too many typos. The tone was too harsh. Did I really curse? Whatever the faux pas is, how can you recall your Gmail sent message? Well, it’s not like Outlook where you can automatically click the Recall This Message button.
Instead, with Gmail, you have to be a little more proactive. This is how you can recall a Gmail message:
- Go to Mail settings from the Gear icon on the top of your Gmail page
- Click Gmail Labs
- Search or find the Undo Send lab and click Enable
- Click Save Changes
These steps will allow you to recall a Gmail message within 10 seconds of sending it. Basically, Gmail will prompt you with a 10 seconds or less to undo after sending a Gmail message. It’s up to you if you’d like to recall it or now.
I highly recommend to install this feature before it’s too late! Don’t worry. You don’t have to be a gmail expert, email support expert, or Google support geek to figure this one out. It’s easy!
