Word 2010 tips – Microsoft Word 2010 best tips – Word 2010 tutorial

Microsoft Word 2010 could be confusing, especially if you have made the giant leap from Word 2003. If you’re a past Word 2007 user, then Word isn’t so daunting, but the navigation is still a little different.

Here are the best Microsoft Word 2010 tips to make your life easier:

  • Interface – New look.  It boils down to a Quick Access toolbar for common commands (i.e. Save, Print, E-mail, New), File Tab or Backstage (customization and options), and Ribbon (i.e. font, center, bold).  Knowing where these items are located are half the battle.
  • How to use Backstage? Click on File and you’re in Backstage.  A notable feature is Save & Send where you can easily email or post your doc as a blog.  You may also go into Options to customize your Ribbon and change your name associated with every document sent.
  • Copy and Paste – Finally, Microsoft has solved the copy / paste formatting PC issueHow many times have you copied and pasted from one document to another and the formatting was never the same? Now you can copy info over with a preview to make sure it mirrors perfectly.

Overall, Microsoft Word 2010 is a nice upgrade to Microsoft Word 2007.  You just have to have a little patience to adjust to the new navigation, and with the three tips above, you’re well on your way to becoming a Microsoft Word 2010 expert!
