Microsoft’s Skydrive was always a bit of a joke. In case you’re wondering, this was released a couple of years ago to provide online file storage. The problem was that it was always on a separate island of its own, without iPhone, iPad, or even adequate PC support.
Now, Skydrive has a revamped version that is actually pretty decent. You can drop and drag your computer files to it, and vice versa. It acts like a nice local file manager, and has easy navigation to work with. The best part about this is if you have a Hotmail or Live account, you’ll get 25GB of cloud storage for free! That’s actually incredible given the 2.5-5GB free caps on other cloud accounts, such as Mozy, Boxee, and DropBox.
It’s worth trying since it’s for free. Plus, it’s a great way to back up files, preventing being in the situation of needing data recovery. If you’re a PC user, it’s an ideal way to back up your files, especially if you have less than 25GB of files. The computer setup is easy. Just log in, and off you go. Enjoy!
