A very nice client just left our New York Computer Help office raving about Viggle. She watches TV through Viggle on her iPhone. She unfortunately had a cracked iPhone and needed a new battery. So, we took care of that first and then she was able to rave and show us how Viggle works. She mentioned that she has received rewards where the more she watches her shows or checks in to see her programs, she’ll receive points towards movies, Old Navy, and even towards the Kindle Fire. This peaked my curiosity so I’m reviewing this TV iPhone app.
Here’s the deal with Viggle:
- You select which show you’d like to watch. Then, you check in.
- You’ll need to go to your TV and turn on the show you checked in to. Then, Viggle will listen to make sure you’re watching the selected show. Then, you’ll be rewarded with Viggle points.
- Use your points! You can redeem your points from Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Lowe’s, CVS, and movies.
Overall, I like it. I’m not a big TV junkie so it’s not aimed at me. Plus, I have kids which forces me to mute or lower the TV volume at night when the little ones are sleeping. That means Viggle won’t be able to listen to my program and give me rewards. If you’re an avid TV watcher, this iPhone TV app is for you. You’re already vegging out watching TV so you might as well get credit for it. How about that for proactive TV vegging out!
