Taking a Mac screenshot is important for a few reasons.  If you get a constant error message, taking a screenshot is a great way to show your Mac tech support the exact Mac error you’re receiving.  Or if you want to quickly share a web page, document, or whatever else is on your screen, a screenshot will allow you to accomplish this.

Here are 3 ways to take Mac screenshots:

  1. Command-Shift-3:  Capture your entire screen
  2. Command-Shift-4:  Highlight the part of the screen you’d like to select
  3. Command-Shift-4, then space bar, then click on a window:  Take the selected window you desire.
