How to set up Windows 8 as a hot spot? Easiest way to set up Windows 8 as hot spot – NYC Windows 8 service

NYC Windows 8 hotspot setupWindows 8 is not like Windows 7.  Things are harder to find.  Even the easy tool to turn your PC into a hot spot is gone.  If you want to connect your iPhone, iPad, or other devices to the Internet through your Windows 8 computer or tablet, you’ll have to go through a few steps first.

Why would you want to turn your Windows 8 computer into a hotspot anyway, you ask?  If you’re on vacation and your Win 8 system has an Internet plan built into it, then your other computer support gadgets can piggyback on it for free.  The same goes for if you’ve paid for Internet usage at a cafe or airport, your other devices can jump on too.

Now, onto the quick Windows 8 support steps to set your computer up as a hotspot:

  1. Download, install, and open Virtual Router Plus.
  2. Enter your network name, password, and shared connection.
  3. Hit “Start Virtual Router Plus” and voila, you are now on the Internet with multiple devices.

Please note that your main Windows 8 computer has to be on, not sleeping, not hibernating, or snoozing in any other way in order for the other devices to be actively connected to it and, in turn, the Internet.
