Your Mac printer may be showing smears, stripes, or other gunk that are unseemly. Don’t let that get you down. It’s not down for the count yet. You probably just need to give it a good cleaning to get it back on track.
You could tamper with the software that came along with your Mac printer support, but why bother?! I have an easier Mac printer repair option.
Here’s the easiest way to clean your Mac printer:
- Go to Applications->Utilities->Terminal
- Open the terminal windows and type: cupsctl WebInterface=yes
- Type in web interface: http://127.0.0.1:631
- Click on Printers tab, select your printer, and choose “Clean Print Heads.”
Of course, if your print software has a quick option to clean your print heads, then click that button. Otherwise, if your printer is older or the software you have for it is clunky, this 4-step Mac print clean service process will do the trick.
