Which browser is best to use for Windows 8? Internet Explorer has long been the slow grandpa of the browsers. So, the question is: Is Chrome or Firefox faster to use on Windows 8?
At pure speed, Firefox is faster than Chrome on Windows 8. This has been proven by different speed tests. It’s not a huge margin of a difference, but noticeable enough. By the way, Chrome is faster on Windows 7. If you’re wondering, Opera is twice as slow as both browsers. For the record also, Safari is not available to use in Windows 8.
For security purposes, Firefox and Internet Explorer lead the way with Chrome shortly behind.
One thing to note though is if you use another browser besides Internet Explorer (IE), you should still make sure that IE is updated. Otherwise, you may get an Internet Explorer virus or computer trojan. Viruses may use a vulnerability in IE to attack your computer so just make sure IE is in good shape.
