If you’re getting the click, click sound on your Mac, or possibly the dethunk, dethunk, dethunk or beeping sounds, chances are your hard drive is failing. Here’s what you should do if your Mac is making the awful clicking sound:
- Save everything that’s important to you.
- If you cannot save anything, stop, drop and roll. Or at least just stop and shut down your Mac.
- Go to a local NYC data recovery shop for Macs.
- Hope and pray you can get the files recovered.
The most critical thing to do, or not to do, is to tread lightly with your Mac. If it doesn’t start up, shut it down. If it is as slow as molasses, shut it down. The point here is you don’t want to cause more damage that will render your Mac data recovery fruitless.
