It’s the forever-popular question, “How can I speed up my PC boot time?” Devoid a failing hard drive problem, there are tons of things you can do. But, if you’re not a do-it-yourself’er type, then I’ll recommend free software to give your PC a speed boot when starting up.
Here are some free software to speed up your PC boot time:
- Remove unwanted programs – Don’t get your hands wet, let Revo Uninstaller remove any programs you don’t need.
- Prioritize when your programs run at startup – When your PC boots up, every program you have set to start up, or that’s in the startup folder, will do so simultaneously. This can cause bottlenecks and PC errors. Install Autoruns to see what programs are running at startup. Then, you can run Startup Delayer to prioritize your startup programs, setting up the ones like email and Microsoft Word first to ensure your day-to-day programs start up first so you don’t have to wait around.
- Get rid of the junk – Removing temp folders, cache, history files, and other left-overs can be a chore taking care of. Let CCleaner do all the work for you.
Follow these three steps and your PC will be super fast at start up. Keep in mind that a bad hard drive, PC virus issue, or another PC problem might have to be dealt separately by a PC expert. But, these steps should be done for maintenance PC purposes.
