You might be faced with this scenario: Your Mac or iPhone/iPad is cracked or not working, and need to decide who should fix it. There are a couple of factors to consider.
Here are the steps to take when considering where to go for fixing your Apple support device:
- Do you have Applecare? If so, go to the Apple Store and have one of the Genius Bar reps take care of it and you. Why pay extra if you already paid for the warranty?
- If no Applecare, then your best bet is going to a local NYC Apple service repair shop. Prices will be cheaper and you won’t wait too long for Apple service. Keep in mind that the Apple store is products-oriented. They’d rather you buy a new Mac or product versus repairing your Apple product.
- Should you go with a Mac certified tech? Yes, if possible. But, if your choice is with a certified rep or an experience Apple shop, I’d go with the experience. Experience always beats paper credentials. If you can find an Apple service shop that is certified and has experience, well, that’s the best of both worlds.
