Gmail is great if you know how to navigate around it. No folders, no problem. You have conversations. Need to mark Gmail emails as read? No problem, if you know how to do it. This comes in handy if you use your Gmail as a to-do list. Once you’re done reading an email, you can file it quickly as read.
Here’s how to mark all your unread e-mails as read:
- Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of Gmail->Settings->Inbox->Categories->uncheck any inbox tabs you checked->Save Changes
- You’ll see all your emails grouped together now. Click on the box in the upper-left corner of your inbox that lets you select different kinds of messages. Then, choose All from the drop-down menu.
- Make sure to select all conversations.
- Choose More->Mark as read->OK
That’s it. This is a good way to ensure any new messages will be marked as read. After time, your messages will be marked as read and go forward knowing which emails are new to read.
