How to use your TV as a computer monitor?

computer mirror to tvIt’s there in your living room or TV.  That hunky, sexy big flat-screen TV.  The thought has crossed your mind.  Why can’t I use my TV for everything I look at, my phone, my computer, my dreams.  Well, you can definitely set it up for your computer.  Your dreams on the other hand.  That calls for a therapist.

Here’s how you can use your TV as a computer monitor:

By way of HDMI cable. 

Modern TV’s have HDMI ports and so do the newer PC laptops.  You can simply connect an HDMI cable from your Windows laptop to the the TV.

Want to go wireless?  Here’s how to set up your PC on your TV:

Update your wireless drivers on your PC laptop.

Run Intel WiDi on your laptop.

Put your TV in Screen Mirroring mode on your TV options.  For example, Samsung TV has this option.

On your laptop, scan for wireless display in Intel WiDi and click on your TV when found.  

Create a pin and follow the prompts.

Got a Mac?  Here’s how to set up your TV for it:

Get an Apple TV box.  Any other way around it is not going to show up well on your TV.

Click the AirPlay icon on the top of your Mac and select Apple TV.  It’s that easy!
