We see MacBook glitches and issues from time to time. And these little bugs are usually fixed with a 5-minute or less tutorial. As such, I want to share another MacBook issue we’ve encountered that seems to keep coming into our MacBook Repair NYC shop.
Issue: MacBook keyboard and trackpad stop working.
What can I do?
First, shut down your MacBook.
Plug in the MagSafe charger.
Press shift-control-option and power button at the same time and then release them at the same time.
This will fix the keyboard and trackpad issue usually.
If not, another quick fix may be to release and secure the MacBook battery. If the battery is bulging and shorting out the MacBook, resecuring the battery may help.
If these quick steps don’t work, you may need a new battery, new trackpad, or new keyboard.
Yes, we replace MacBook hardware parts if it comes down to this. But, try the steps above first which typically does the trick.
