New concept released. What’s the purpose? Save you money while keeping your laptop at least a few more years.
Here’s the deal: You have a MacBook, a Windows laptop, and PC desktop, or a custom gaming build. It’s slowing down. You may have bought it a year ago or up to 5-7 years ago. It’s not able to keep up with your modern-day apps and need of higher processing power. First thought: Let me buy a new computer. Next thought: Panic sets in…what about all of my files, my programs, and all the settings I’m used to. Better thought: Can I get my computer still working, but working better? Ding, ding, ding!
That’s where we come in. The good part about not owning the latest and greatest is that it is typically upgradeable. And in many times, we can upgrade it past or at current modern-day specs. That way, you pay less and if your hard drive is intact or close to being intact, we can retain all of your files, programs, and settings. Keep in mind we can also recover files from failing drives as well if you have that issue. In that case, most likely, we won’t be able to image all your files over, but at least you’ll get back your precious files, photos, videos, and more.
How can you upgrade your computer you ask? Here are the many ways:
Hard drive upgrade
This is the most bang for your buck. Plus, the best way to instantly transform your computer to a higher storage as well as read/write speed. Whether you have an old mechanical drive or a slower, tons of mileage SSD (solid state drive), we can upgrade your drive to the next level SSD for you. You can upgrade to a 500GB SSD, 1TB SSD, 2TB SSD, and higher. Best of all, if your drive is still operational, we’ll clone over all your stuff. That means it will be a mirror image of how you’re used to working on your computer.
ETA: few hours – 2 days
RAM upgrade
Another quickie kind of upgrade. This one is recommended to go double on this to make it a noticeable speed bump. For instance, if you have 8GB of RAM, go with 16GB. 16GB should bump up to 32GB and so on.
ETA: 30 min
WiFi upgrade
With downloading, streaming via Netflix, Hulu, online file storage, and online gaming being the norm now, we really live our lives on the Internet. You can always be more productive with an upgraded WiFi card. If you bought your computer a few years back, chances are you’re living in the slow lane on this one.
ETA: 30 min
Cleaning
Don’t just let your computer accumulate dust. Did you know dust and dirt can ultimately doom your system components. Yes, we’ve seen motherboards get hot and then dust bunnies are combined inside with the heat which we’ve seen short components. It’s not fun. So, you can have us clean the inside of your computer as well as the outside for that matter. A germ-free computer is definitely a good way to get that shiny new feeling back.
ETA: 1 hr
Cool down upgrade
If your laptop is running hot, we have options for you. We can apply thermal paste on the CPU, clean your fan / vent, and well as remove dust bunnies. Further, you may be able to buy additional parts to cool down your system. Just ask.
ETA: 1 hr
Security upgrade
Do you find your system is slowing down? You may have viruses or spyware hiding out. Make sure your anti-virus protection is up to snuff. Also, you’ll want to ensure you’re protected against ransomware attacks which are those that ask you to fork over thousands of dollars if you want your files back. No fun to be in that position.
ETA: 1 hr
File Backup
Have you ever backed up your files? If that’s a hard no, now it’s time to start. Hard drives and computers are ultimately all going to fail, it’s just a matter of time. The most proactive task you can perform is a backup. That way, if your computer dies a terrible death, you’ll at least still have the most important things you’ll need, your files.
ETA: 1 hr – 3 days (file size dependent)
So, in the efforts to saving your money, time, and minimal frustration, you should check out possible upgrades for your computer.
