Motherboard repair: Can it be done? Is my computer toast?

If Apple or another company tells you your motherboard is toast, is it really done for? Are there any other options to still fix your dead computer?

I can’t tell you how many times Apple dismisses MacBooks because it has a failed logic board. By the way, logic board and motherboards are used synonymously, but really Apple uses the logic board term and Windows-based computers uses the motherboard terminology. Anyway, Apple usually throws down the towel prematurely. Buy a new Mac is the resolution for them.

But, you don’t have to give up just yet. Motherboards were created originally. So, of course they may be repaired when they’re not too far gone. Not all can be saved. But, if they’re salvageable, you’ll need to right skills to get the job done.

Fuses, circuits, switches, voltage, power, and more need to be analyzed with professional equipment. Try it at your own risk. It’s already dead. What more do you have to lose. Well, you can render it useless forever!

Seriously though, if you’re not up for the challenge nor have the right equipment, let the big guys and gals do it for you. Motherboard / logic board repair service can save you time and money in a big way. I recommend trying this route first before replacing your motherboard. And especially don’t buy a new computer just yet. Give a try. What do you have to lose?!
