How to use Siri to dicate to Mac –

Dictating to your iPhone is cool.  But, dictating to your Mac is even cooler!

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Purchase and install Air Dictate on your iPhone 4S.
  2. On your Mac, go to Avatron to download the free Air Dictate Receiver.
  3. Drop Air Dictate Receiver into your Applications folder and run it.
  4. Launch Air Dictate on your iPhone.
  5. Press Link to pair your iPhone with your Mac.  If you don’t see your Mac, then make sure both devices are on the same wireless network and try again.
  6. Click Accept to receive dictation on your Mac.
  7. Open up Word, a text editor, an email, or another program to dictate to.  Click the Mic button and being speaking to dictate to your Mac.  When done speaking, click the Mic button again and you’ll see what you dictated.

If you are a doctor, attorney, or another type who prefers to dictate instead of typing, this is a great Apple service to get this done.  It doesn’t require an iPhone service expert to set it up so don’t worry.  Just follow the Mac setup instructions above and you’ll be dictating in no time!
