Replace laptop for iPad – How to ditch your laptop for an iPad

So, you’re sick of your laptop and just want a lighter, cooler iPad to replace it.  No problem!

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Get a bluetooth keyboard and pair it with your iPad.  It’s not easy typing on glass so don’t fight it.  Logitech makes a good one or just stick with Apple’s keyboard.
  2. Get a good iPad case or another to prop of your iPad.  Now, you have a keyboard and laptop stand-alike iPad.
  3. Stay in tune with chatting with IMO Instant Messenger.  You’ll be able to connect to Google Talk, AIM, and others.
  4. Use an easy word processor program, such as iA Writer, to mimic Microsoft Word file creation and editing.
  5. iTeleport should be installed to remotely access your desktop or another computer.  This is for the times where a pseudo-programmable app just doesn’t do the job like the real program.
  6. Get a DropBox or Google Docs account.  Save your files online since you won’t be able to use an external hard drive without the lack of iPad USB ports.

Just 6 steps and your iPad will do the same as our laptop did.  There’s no need to be an iPad expert of Apple tech support guru here.
